
MOUNT UNION BOROUGH TAX COLLECTOR
An elected Tax Collector in Pennsylvania is a municipal officer chosen by voters to a four-year term to collect local property, municipal, and school taxes. This at-large position is a Borough-wide office that is elected by all of the Borough’s voting wards combined.
The Tax Collector must be at least 21 years old, a resident of the municipality for one year, file for a criminal background check, complete and pass a mandatory basic training program to become certified, secure a surety bond, take an oath of office and maintain continuing education credits.
The current elected Tax Collector conducts business at the Mount Union Tax Office located at 18 East Tyler Street. Office hours change monthly based on discount, face and penalty periods. Hours are as follows:
MARCH - APRIL Monday 10:00AM – 2:00PM
Wednesday 12:00PM – 4:00PM
MAY - JUNE Wednesday 12:00PM – 4:00PM
JULY – AUGUST Monday 10:00AM – 2:00PM
Wednesday 12:00PM – 4:00PM
SEPTEMBER – DECEMBER Wednesday 12:00PM – 4:00PM
